"Will, please not today."
"What?"
"Just a nice quiet meal, please."
"It's just a question."
"I don't know."
"What?"
"I can't answer that."
"I don't know either."
"What?"
"I mean I think that if you stop a so called bad thing from happening to you or something happens to you surprisingly, the thing that is in common with both of them is that you are going to be still using the same tools to work either situation. You are still the same person in both situation."
"I said please just let me eat."
"I think the point is if you fear something bad happening to you, that is where you are making the mistake. You are putting too much power on it, and that is going to change the way it affects you."
"But it depends on the degree of fucked up."
"No, it depends on the power you give it, the tools you have to deal with both situations remains the constant. The power you give away is the only thing that changes a problem you are avoiding or facing. You never personally--who you really are, never change."
"It's like you are saying you don't change anything, even if your situation has gotten worse."
"Right."
"What? Even if you mangled in a car accident?"
"There may be different actions you take physically but mentally it has to be seen the same and then the problem--no matter the severity, has the same peaceful effect as the problem you were good enough to avoid."
"I wish I could have avoided this conversation."
"I feel better."
